A Day In Paradise. Poem by Maria Shaw

I tasted paradise
sweet nectar of life

I ate of the fruits
on a sun-kissed beach

and I drank from the springs
fresh water pure and sweet.

I danced with the fawns
and sang with the birds

not caring who saw
not caring who heard.

The bees buzzed aside
as I raided their hive

I shared with the bears
golden honey.

I had a feast of nuts and berries
washed down with wine from the vines

I spent a day in paradise
free from the woes of mankind.
