A Day Is Just Another Day Poem by Adam Hannigan

A Day Is Just Another Day

If I dare to look inside my legs tremble
Don’t understand this thing so fearsome
A day is Just another Day
The bird that soars must have freedom
A threat this real is not imaginary
Rather a predatory hallucination

Things that are not real are hallucination
Palpitations of the heart inside trembling
Death and taxes have become imaginary
Something so large looms Fearsome
The incarceration of my freedom
The beginning of a very black day

Apocalypse of the down imaginary
Live to fight another day
Forever foraging the fearsome
That’s a grand hallucination
For the skies have begun trembling
I pass on the illusion of freedom

All the best wars won freedom
The victors boast of victory imaginary
While others loath and twist trembling
The journey defined by another day
Precipitated by colors and hallucination
A chasm bereft of handholds fearsome

Embraced by another together Fearsome
We can rally this freedom
End to witness auditory hallucination
Vocal chords dried and stacked imaginary
Screaming in silence all day
My lips numb and trembling

Stalked by anxiety relentless fearsome; this thing is not imaginary
Fighting for my freedom has surrendered the day
Yet battle is the hallucination and surrender oft ends the trembling
