A Democracy Not Alone Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

It is not the democracy alone to enjoy
It can be dependent on many methods and how you employ
The people are made supreme to decide the course
Often it is giving the way and invite the curse

After all it has to be for the people's good
What is the use if they are starving for food?
still they have to live under poverty line
And we claim it alright and is very fine

Why have we not attained real form of liberty?
Why do we witness lawlessness and feel pity?
It is irony of fact that we have no iron will
We allow them free hand to target us and kill

Is it not the fact the there is large scale corruption?
The system is put to disuse and face frequent disruption
The legal cases takes years together for addressable
Where do we go then for its redressal?

The political rivalry is welcome in any form
Only people should remain vigilant and inform
The course can be steered and taken to safety
The adversary can be defeated even if he is powerful and mighty

I witness emergence of dictatorship
They come into power and act as lordship
It has lacuna and lack so much in application
The people still suffer In its continuation

The peace and happiness must prevail at any cost
This is troubling factor and is seen with most
No system is perfect unless rightly implemented
It may deliver good but still adversely commented

All dictators and despots are not that evil
They have been represented as devil
We are the culprits to have openly encouraged
The country's affair could have been well managed

Nothing is condemned or praised
It is the only finger raised
We may lack the strength to oppose
The country is at loss as we observe truce and pause

Some of the decisions can be taken arbitrarily
if that can lead to defuse the situation easily
There is no need to go through tortuous route
We should try to weed out and strike at the root

We all know there is tragic end for despots
They receive all negative reports
Their future hangs in balance and fear for life
They can't handle the country which torn with strife

Democracy or despotic rule can serve better
It should serve better and not shatter
All our aspirations for peace and stability
It will be known as best very good quality
