A Departed Child

A Departed Child

Console me God when I lose a loved one
Allow me to accept it as; 'Your will be done'.
Let not the loss produce anger and lasting sorrow
But wisdom and knowledge to reflect on tomorrow.

Let my belief in what You have taken from me
Will be given life and love again, to feel and see.
That they will always occupy a part of my heart and mind
Firm in my belief; that it is You; they will find.

Tho it appears that their life was not complete
Their purpose of departure not to leave but to greet.
I ask that they come to You as they came to me
A child to be loved; to feel and touch and to see.

A child they were and a child they are
Accompany them on their journey and be it not far.
Throughout my remaining time and along with any tears
Be it for the gift and for them; I have no fears.
