A Downhearted Heart Poem by Shyam Chakraborty

A Downhearted Heart

The bench is empty
Though promises made
were plenty.
the words not kept
a downhearted heart
swindled, whimpering
under a solitary tree...

and the northern gust
hard-hearted
pierced the skin...

ruthlessly.
