A Dream Of You Poem by Christopher Teale

A Dream Of You

I breathe in deeply the cold night air
Dreaming freely on my wooden chair
As the surf retreats back to the sea
Where the moonlight flickers while I see
I see you dancing amongst the waves
I hear you chanting of lovely days
But I know I dream when I see you there
And tears stream down as I stare
I sadly sigh as roses loose their petals
While I wait on dreaming, dreaming on eternal
Losing my grip on reality like a man
Who has lived far beyond his lives' span
Falling slowly into the surreal void of imagination
Into a world born from the mind´s machination
And ever more do you become so distant
With every fragile dream, so inconsistent
And I love a dream of you! But you
You vanish like the morning dew!
So I'm left only with a dream
A dream of you...
