A Dream's Delight Poem by Michael P. Johnson

A Dream's Delight

Ever dreamed, a high mountain climbing?
Exploring waters deep
Hearing while church bells were chiming
A vision woke from your sleep

Looking around, nothing was seen
No bells were close to hear
What from the vision was to glean
Was truly an angel here?

A little shrug a wryly smile
With fingers through my hair
Then gathering senses awhile
Surely someone was there

His outstretched arms, I saw quite plain
Beckoning me to near
Softly at first, then once again
With voice crystal clear

'Come out, come away, come hither
Love's grace, is calling your name
Now! is not a time to dither
Living a life of shame

Of Jesus, you heard your mother
God's truth, your father taught well
To life, you know there's no other
Where one can flee from hell'

Looking around, dreaming no more
Knowing I'm not insane
Heaven, was calling for sure
My parents lived not in vain

Jesus saw the teachings in me
The world clouding my eyes
Life's sown Seed, helped set me free
With Christ, Heaven to rise.....
