A Dream Within A Dream Poem by Buxton Shippy

A Dream Within A Dream

I dreamed that I was dreaming
And a presence entered my room;
I could not move or twitch
But placed my mind on the LORD.
Then suddenly I woke up,
In the dream I was dreaming,
Rushed to the light switch
And turned on the light.
I turned around and looked
at the suspended light-bulb;
Turned around again, opened
the door and turned left,
in the hallway.
When I got to the end
Of the hallway I saw people
I knew from my previous job;
Then I woke up.
