A Families Recession Poem by joseph lonergan

A Families Recession

Breadbin now is empty hole inside his pocket
Glearing out his window tearing his racehorse docket
What is he to do where is he too go
Wife inside her bed life's now hard you know

Thinking about greener pastures abandoning wife and kid
This inside his head woe's of getting rid
Looking in their faces thinking of this life
Thinking how he loved them little son and wife

Time to be a man Try and seek a job
Can't face a wife watching as she sob
Used to be so different used to have it good
Used to have a profession carpenter worked in wood

Recession changed their life's new job now the dole
Can't afford to live stuck inside this hole
Emigration is the answer a ticket to over sea
Australia or England maybe that's how it's gotta be
