A Family Bond Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Family bond is rarely questioned
Not even loosely talked or mentioned
Each member understands its value
Remains attached and promises help if that is due

It is like one world without boundary
Where each member acts for that is necessary
Elders look after youngsters and discharge obligation
That has grown out from heritance or blood relation

No one tries to break it at single annoyance
Everybody restrains and maintain silence
Nothing is done at the cost of losing face
Everybody is respected and accommodated in case

Females are considered generally as honor
Any disrespect or dishonor results in shock tremors
They are seen as priceless pride or considered above
Whole of the traditional values are celebrated with fun fare and love

One can't live without each other even for the day
They may not think of going away or search for parting ways
It has resulted into firm relation and can last longer
Day by day it is growing with beliefs and turns stronger

Many countries have joint family system
For centuries they have maintained and grown its stem
Even they have gone deeper and grown
In some of the parts they have remained known

Even animals have strong affinity
It is unknown bond ax gifted from almighty
Even if that has not been questioned so far
Its repercussion is felt else where

Let us preserve its sanctity and usefulness
It must be maintained with true face
Even in critical times it should not be broken
The faith in family tradition must not be taken as token

Today join families are fast disintegrating
They are on wane and decimating
If ever we can hold them still more
Its service will be called worthwhile to explore
