A Father - Poem by Alexander Antonuccio

The Classic Family
A man, his wife, and four children
Is this a dream?
Could this be the perfect family?
Or do we drop back to reality
Wife and children faced with life threatening fear
Not by ghouls or goblins, but by the man known as their protector
Do all men follow what society tells them?
Or do they do whats only best for themselves

A once beautiful family turns to a night mare
Only a few escape the pain
Only a few can move on
And even less succeed
What if these children had their protector in reach
Would they turn out superior
Did they succeed in spite, or in the will to escape

To those who don’t, imagine that one man
That one father, could have changed their lives forever
But now that once perfect family is in ruins
A family that can never be fixed
Some scars will heal, these do not
They are carved under the skin
Not shown to the public, only to the people who seek
And once it is seen their story will appear
One story that cannot be forgotten
One story that is ridden with pain and fear
And the fact will be seen that there is never happiness here
