A Fluttering Whisper Poem by Dakota Ellerton

A Fluttering Whisper

Rating: 5.0

In my chest
behind my ribs
is the heart
that belongs to you

Like a flicker to a candle
or a pulse to a vein
you've got me wrapper around your finger
following for more

a corpse lay motionless
no expression shown
my heart was once ice
until you showed me love

with open arms you embraced me
you showed me there was another world
beyond my negativity

with your never ending charm
and high-spirit [kindness]
sit back and watch the music flow around us

life and death
time and space
it fades away when I'm with you
I hear the calming sound of your heartbeat
as mine begins to answer
it whispers,
I love you.
