when unknown becomes more near
with faith and love we adhere,
strange strangers, give life to hope
trusted become aliens
to our great despair.
a good friend,
stays close to the heart,
even in a foreign land,
a bridge over ocean,
is made in mind,
you can reach out, and
always unwind.
a friend like this
is rare to find,
if you have one,
life is sunshine! !

A very meaningful poem! An intelligent IAF Officer named Patanjali, had described a true friend once as someone who would accept him with all his imperfections & be ready to empathise with him!

a bridge over ocean is made in mind. Ritty you have capture what true friendship is. its a lovely poem. you are right sometimes we open up with perfect strangers and forn unique relationships.

Friendship is a beautiful gift to have and you have written this so wisely. My Grandmother wrote in my autograph book 'the way to have a friend is to be one' and it has served me well all my life.
