A Friend In Need Poem by B. V. Dahlen

A Friend In Need

When things are looking bleakest,
Clouds cover up the sun,
All those barriers surround you,
And there is no place to run,

I'm standing there beside you.
No matter what the gale
We'll brave the storm together,
And in sharing we'll prevail.

For friendship has the power
To help us conquer fear.
Shared courage has the potency
To help us persevere.

No matter that in darkness
You can not see me there.
Just reach, out I'm beside you
In the grim times and the fair.

That's what friendship means to me,
Two figures standing tall
Against the troubles life can throw,
A duet that conquers all.

Yes, our friendship is the music
That has the charming power
To multiply our given strengths
When we face our darkest hour.

For our voices joined together
Can drown that dread and fear,
And sing the melody of love
That draws God's comfort here.

Jesus Himself had many friends.
And so, you see, He knew.
The fortitude that friendship brings
To life will see us through.
