A Frozen Yukon Poem by Marilyn Lott

A Frozen Yukon

Rating: 3.5

A storm slammed into Yukon
So many were not ready
A frozen world came suddenly
Solid, cold and steady

The rain came down and froze
On the very spot it fell
Like a frosty mother nature
Had cast a magic spell

Icicles like daggers
Hung down from everything
As we bundled up to explore
Our world had an icy sting

The geese, well bless their hearts
Standing ‘round were quite amazed
‘Cause the lake they always swam in
Was now a glassy haze

And the beauty, oh the beauty
As far as the eye could see
Laced as thick as cables
On every single tree

It’s just the perfect season
To set aside the time
To enjoy this winter wonderland
See what the camera lens can find!

And the older we get the colder it feels, a delightful poem Marilyn.
