A Game Of Words Poem by Aimanu B. Ali

A Game Of Words

I am toying with words
Beautiful, emotional and soft,
Then there are those as well,
Angry, hard, bitter and cruel.
I am trying to write a message,
Playing a game of words with you,
Choosing with a dexterity those
That will touch your heart,
As lightly as a drizzle,
Falling softly on the dry earth.

In your heart my words will prepare
A field, ready to sow the seeds of love.
I'll watch them grow with pride,
Dreaming of a ripe, fruitful autumn.
Words are like the rain in summer,
Playing many a roles at a time,
Healer, killer saviour and a mother.
A healer stroking with soft fingers,
The wound on the bosom of the earth.
The dark clouds, her loose hair,
Scud across the sky blown by wind.
She is in a trance, pouring down
Magical drops, filling the wounds with love.

Killer words are flood water,
Inundate the heart washing away
All traces of life from it,
Leaving behind a wasteland.
I am weaving a net with words,
Magical, sweet and intoxicating.
Entangled in it you are drawn to me,
Confused, your words become incoherent.
I am casting a spell on you,
Dreamy eyed, you murmur my name.
May be at the other end you are busy,
Setting up a similar trap, a spider waiting,
I hate them, the spiders, ghastly creatures.

We are now engaged in a game,
A game of words, dangerously exciting.

Very thoughtful write, without words we can communicate much effectively.
