A Gift Not From The Heart Poem by Tony Adah

A Gift Not From The Heart

Those whose elbows can not stretch
Gave me a gift which
I had to thank my God
I went under a rose that blossomed
In the bush in the morning
I stood under it
And it poured its confetti of petals on me
By noons day its leaves
Got flabby and it wept.
