A Gift Of Having A Good Father Poem by Diane Monte

A Gift Of Having A Good Father

My mom shares about her most beautiful love story,
About the young and naughty man he met,
She was not sure about if she will marry him,
Because her parents do not want him for her.

She remembered this man one day on her way back home,
A heavy rains begun to fall and thunder strikes.
No umbrella! He shouted aloud.
Immediately, he saw banana leaves and he used it to cover her.

She remembered the first date they had,
This naughty man he taught, but has a pure heart and deeds,
He shared his food for these street children,
Instead of buying a gift for thier first
date.

I can't describe how happy was my mother when she was telling her story,
About the man who wins her heart and soul,
Her heart smiles as lovely as the sun is rising,
I feel my father's heart is dancing while he was listening.

Time flies so fast and he is getting older at 75,
He used to teach me specially in Math,
Nor check my english grammar and construction,
But, there is more, the best gift he has,
His love for God, he taught us that much.

What a blessing and grateful i am,
Having him, , , the best gift i have,
Uh God, please send him all angels above,
To watch over him when i am not around.

I wish he could live a thousand years,
So we can share the best memories altogether,
I wish their love lives eternally,
And let God bless them both.
