A Girl In Disguise Poem by Jazmine

A Girl In Disguise

You have never been in her shoes or seen her world
Never heard cracking thunders or saw her dignity sold
You have never been in her footsteps or felt her beats
Never touched with her rain or saw her worn out feet
You have never read her words or what she has heard
Never plucked her roses at dawn or saw her soul cursed
You have never written on her lines or bled from her ink
Never understood her carvings or saw her ships sink
You have never known her pain or seen her enslaved
Never thought of her anguish or saw her unveiled

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I have posted this poem in another website as well. This is a poem I wrote about one of my friends, who is misjudged and mistreated by those whom around her. She is misunderstood and no one sees her pain through her smile.

'' misjudged, mistreated, misunderstood.. by those around her..'' : unfortunately, we have to witness such situations too often.. but you did the right thing, Jazmine - this is what real friendship means Thanks for sharing - and keep on writing..
