A Grief Shared (2006) Poem by Lillian B. Rose

A Grief Shared (2006)

the world is filled with black
Shadows cackling in the
fading lights, the darkest
one draws his sword
as darkness trapps the innocent kind

A light in distance appears
Unseen b7y three of brutality
Darkness lifts, appear to all
the evil ones begin to fall
the light prevails against the dark

Still in fear I've been enclosed
as tears free fall through my prayers
To him who gave me strength
to persever by steadying me
With 5 unseen hands to calm and guard

Why now do in pain You show
The fear and anguish 7 years I have been suffering
to see the pain replayed on one
That I have supported under Your wing
In my silence another was harmed

I thought for years on a demise
that I feared would come when I stopped
Looking for it to realize and come to light
And I the coward run from sight
Breaking apart as I start to cry

But even no when my pain is near
You have but to turn an ear
to hear the torment that plagues my form
as on my knees to You words rise
From Your war-torn child's eyes.
