A Guilded Cage Poem by Raven Soleil

A Guilded Cage

I was a beautiful creature.
-I love her, I love her not - the feathers pulled one-by-one
The sky was mine.
-Need these bars to protect you from yourself
I sang with each sunrise, song flowing like water from my heart.
-Silence, or the cats will devour you
A life lived.
-Life merely alive
But now, the feathers are growing back.
-And you forgot to lock the door
