A Heart's Desire Poem by K.N. Sheldon

A Heart's Desire

As the sun rises, I feel my heart lift,
At the end of the night, the sorrow has left.
Hundreds of days, every one amazing,
Leaving those deep in soul, full of feeling.
What time will the love end?
What day will let sorrow win?
Is the world past those times?
Or are they far from our reach?
Can we make ourselves love?
Or do we borrow, without return?
Is life really so beautiful,
Or is the magnificence an illusion?
Have we past our boundaries?
Can we still fix our greed?
Love doesn't give, it only lends,
To those who can use it,
Whether they mistreat it, or
Treasure it like gold.
peace, and sanity
war and hate.
To live, we must die.
To die, we must live.
To love we must suffer.
To truly suffer, we must love,
And have it taken away.
And as the sun rises again,
I feel complete.
