A Heart Untrue

  It’s okay sweetheart,
You can walk away knowing that you were loved
Knowing that you were the moon and the stars
Knowing that someone believed in you, and believed in your soul
Someone who would rather give you up, than to believe your heart untrue

And I’m okay sweetheart,
My heart can hold sweet memories of stolen moments in your arms
My dreams can recall the fire and passion of your kiss
And I’ll still believe in you, and I’ll believe in your soul
And I'll give you up, rather than believe your heart untrue

And it’s okay sweetheart,
We’ll be fine, we’ll both move on with living our fettered lives
Taking separate paths to our final destination
And, we’ll stop and recall from time to time, …and we’ll wonder
But, we’ll both know that it was better to have given up, than to have loved a heart untrue
