A Hero In My Village Square Poem by MAHAMMA ADRIANNE

A Hero In My Village Square

I danced in my village square
And cheers I heard from all square

I strove in all my years
Yes the fruit I reap from all the corners

I am happy with the man I am becoming
Thankful for the little I am achieving

Someone called me a procrastinator
But in me I am a believer

To provide my community with best of service
Not to occupy a large office

And charlatan I said no to remaining
But professional I have vowed to attaining

I believe in no shortcut to quality
And I am not overwhelmed by quantity

My parents are very grateful
For my life they are extremely joyful

What else a man needs in his life
When his siblings find him dependable?
