A Home Poem by Jaishree Nair

A Home

Rating: 5.0

A Paradise for the lucky ones!
A shelter of love;
Watered with care...
Plastered with trust
Cemented with faith.

A bond of blood....
More thicker than water
Unwaveringly and unswayingly
United in ups and downs.

To be ourselves without inhibitions
To wake up to the faces of the loved ones
To lighten the burden when heavy
The invisible knot a boon.

Where giving is not a sacrifice
Sharing is not a burden
Like the waves caressing the bank
Many hands joined to row the boat.

To rain the pain when smothered
To smile the joy when brightened
Good night kisses a lullaby
A seesaw to balance
This comfort zone of all species......!

It is a place where sacrificing for others is a pleasure. That's the best thing a life achieves many, many times in home. It is a heaven on earth.

A home can be made a paradise on Earth, if we wll so! It may be a place where the tides of joy and pain may swell and ebb! It may be a place where all our efforts may not bear fruit! It can be a place where our honesty may be called to question.. and we slip into fleeting moments of depression! It could be a place where unanticipated misfortunes might strike in the height of joy! Yet it is a place where we can be ourselves, to where we would like to retire after all our tedious wanderings, where we receive love and comfort! A great write Jaishree! I invite you to read my poem My Home!
