A Kind Of Story Poem by RIC BASTASA

A Kind Of Story

a red cliff stands beside
a running creek

from a distance it looks like
a hand
C-shaped trying to give
a view of spring

fluffy clouds hang there
like friends
wanting to save someone
from an impending harm

the valley presents a shadow
of a gray land
offering the promises of
a bumpy harvest

meanwhile everyone watches
how a creek dies.
