A Kiss From Heaven Poem by Robin Pratt

A Kiss From Heaven

Have you ever felt a kiss from heaven?
It's a hard to know question
for me
at least.

What is heaven?
Where is it?
Is it real?
A place. A notion.

Or an experience just felt
In some corner of your being
A warm breeze touching your soul
Giving that tingle of connection

Just like gentle electricity
I remember once on my favourite fell
in that wondrous pocket of beauty
England's Lake District.

Still quite early in the day
in May
Alone
on Helvellyn

I sat near the summit
and gazed east
to where the sun tracked upwards
And immersed myself in the place and time

It was then
at this point of connection
part me, part ancient rock,
part everyone and everyplace.

I felt my family with me in that space
I felt the whole of everything
in a startling presence of the present
gently powerful positive charge
That was I feel 'A kiss from heaven'
