A Kiss In Dream Poem by Zhengyuan Zhai

A Kiss In Dream

I could feel your breathes on my face
Before my lips touched yours
It was a kiss so intense yet coming so late
All of a sudden, time and distance avail not.

Too surreal, even for a dream deeply buried
The heart still trembles with the memory collected
I was so convinced I had let you go
I did swear the answer would be no

Entangled in fatiguing thoughts, I lie
Down, at the gate of another dangerous night
Perhaps I did not end it right,
Perhaps what is buried alive may never die.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is for my ex-girlfriend. We broke up about a year ago, yet I still dream about her sometimes. This poem was written after a breautiful, yet sad dream.
