A Kiss Too Late Poem by Neil Graham Marsden

A Kiss Too Late

Regretably the moment passed,
For one last kiss, the chance expired.
Invisibly your time amassed,
To go beyond all things desired.

Too late I hear those mocking words;
Your opportunity has gone!
Such dreams now seemingly absurd,
Trapped within one haunting song.

If I could have that day once more
instead of waving hands would show,
one long embrace with you explore,
then you could leave and I might go.

No, this was not just one more death
that parted me from every breath,
For your soul so cruelly apprehended,
left behind the long tormented.

A kiss in time heals wounds If left uncured heart bleeds Once an angel with crushed wings Now a shadow with broken soul

The passionate flow of a longing desire of a kiss too late, is such in which the love longing is greatly felt in every line, making us lament with you great poet. Nice poem!

This is a great poem! I especially liked the second stanza. I even liked the way you wrote in complete sentences instead of the traditional capitalization of each line. I guess e. e. cummings blew that style out of the water, although just because it is not often used on this site is not an indication of the true literary trend. Adeline
