A Letter From Home Poem by Jasmine Brown

A Letter From Home

On the September road

I was driving alone

Listening to my favourite band

The Ramones

You were taking pictures

Of your toes

Because on them it was written

'This is how life goes'

The Only Exception by Paramore

Was your favourite song

Every time you heard it

You would always sing along

Blue sky, bright sunshine

You always loved the summer

I said 'i love you' for the first time at the beach

I wish i told you sooner

Gracie is 6 now

She's our little angel

Her grades are good

She's in a great level

I can't believe 6 years have pasted since you left

I miss you so much

I wish you were here

So i can feel your touch

Everyday, i put your perfume in my pillow

To stop hurting, it only makes it worse

But i can't resist it

I keep going through the same course

One night, you appeared to me in a dream

Saying i need to move on for Gracie's sake

She needs a present father

I need to dive in the reality lake

You were right

I need to focus more on Gracie now

She's my treasure

Without a doubt

Thank you Emily

Once again you showed me the right way

To achieve grief and happiness

Sorry for the delay
