A Letter Of Assurance Poem by Regis Wilson

A Letter Of Assurance

Do not think that I am a beast
Or an over night guest.
I know loving you is not a contest
But I promise you that I will stay longer than the rest.
Believe me my dear, you are my life’s best
I will shield you from hurts like a bullet proof vest.
Let your heart be at rest
Because I will not do anything that you detest.
You live in the east
And I in the west,
But our love will stand the distance test.
We will build in our hearts a love nest.
In all I do, I will make you first
And our names will be engraved on love’s eternal crest.
I love you, and I will care for you with an undying zest.
