A Letter To My Heart Poem by Dawn R. VanDyke

A Letter To My Heart

Rating: 5.0

Dear Heart
Somewhere along the line we lost our connection
I am starting to see what you are trying to do,
But I must tell you I am tired and we are through.

I fought for you; in many battles I kept you safe
You were impenetrable and untouchable
You were mine! Only mine!
No one loved you the way I did and still do! ! !
I must tell you I am tired and we are through.
You betrayed me when I you needed most,
then I forgive you even though I lost
You said you love me! ! !
I can see the cost; I want to understand believe me I do
But I must tell you I am tired and we are through.

You say love and happiness are oceans you seek, you have never considered
They might be too deep
You didn’t ask me if I wanted to swim, you just jump right in and here we go again
I begged for answers, from the one up above
Just too much happiness, you give way too much love
I lay and cry and wish you would see, the love and happiness you give
You never give to me.

DEAR HEART I LOVE YOU! !
But I am tired and we are through.
