I fell asleep last night
Thinking of you
And I had a dream
Waking up to it not being true

It was of you and me
Together, as I thought we were destined to be
You held me in your arms
Kissing my cheek
Apologizing for all the mistakes you had made
And telling me you could change

But now I walk through the halls
With that dream on my back
Thinking of all the beauty and personality
That I sadly lack

Baby I want you to hold me
Like you did before
And whisper in my ear
All those things you said before

Your gentle kiss
Still lays on my heart
Marking that piece of me
It is still your part

I am struggling to let you go
But there is one last thing I want you to know

I am ready to be happy again
With you or not
So I am just going to take back
A little piece of my heart
And give it to someone that deserves it
Someone that belongs in my heart

He takes me as I am
Even at my worst
And he says all the right things
The such delicate words

So this is my time
To finally say goodbye

I know you are happy
And we are the past
But I still miss you love
But I will never take you back
