A Little Safe Fun - Poem by Clarence Prince

It can be fun to have a little fun
If good fun is coming you shouldn't run
Having harmless fun is fair exercise

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I am rather glad that I've had a chance to explain: the reason why I've written this little poem, 'A Little Safe Fun.' The truth is: it was laid on my mind that everyone is entitle to a little fun; and seeing as fun is ever good for the soul! I thought, well, who is going to prevent people from having fun, no one! Then, again, thought of safety, which should be first be considered, in order to avoid any sorrow later; for example, say after the fun is over! Then, I thought of all those games, in which fun can be involved. And then, I said where possible safety should always be a must. Consequently, by such a thought ‘A Little Safe Fun' was born! Yet no one had ever known the reason why it had been written! Nonetheless, that's the reason; and since then it has been read numerous times, which made me rather please that I had published it. Thank you all for reading it, but in future while you read, it would be nice to leave a small comment. Blessings to all my readers! Just think safety first in all that you do; as that could prevent all sorts of regrets!

I read your poet's notes and felt good to know that the impression that I had while reading the poem itself was exactly as you described. What fun to read your poem. No need to worry about bad consequences. Only joyful feelings abound.................splendid. (Report) Reply

Thanks for this poem which allows me to look for 'a little safe fun'. All work and no fun makes Jack a dull boy.
Having harmless fun is fair exercise
Then go and have a little fun but be wise' - a cautious allowance! Yet nice.
'A little safe fun a little safe fun
Live your life with a little safe fun
Live it right while there is chance
A little safe fun gives life a prance' - wonderful!

Light moments are needed in life....There is no harm in having some fun, provided it doesn't bring regrets or anything unpleasant on its wake! All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! This famous line is applicable not only toJack but to all men! Enjoyed this highly rhyming poem! ! (Report) Reply

Have a little fun and remain safe that is the name of the game.
A little laughter in life is good for the soul of men and women.
Where would life be if there was no fun. Keep smiling. Enjoyed.

i'm glad the second of your poems i read was not so religious-themed, though your subject matter is your choice.
this message from you in poetry, 'a little safe fun', is a philosophy i agree with wholeheartedly! it is great to be self-sacrificing at times, but i would not want to live my whole life....or my whole week...or my whole day...without something at least resembling fun. at least a little bit...and safe, to be sure!
i like the rhyming and the repetition of 'a little safe fun'. well done, and i didn't NEED the explanation of the title but i always appreciate a note from the poet. i'll send this poem to my poemlist.

I agree, fun and abandonment are two entirely different animals. (Report) Reply
