A Little While Poem by Amber Green

You’ve been gone too long
Now I see her and pretend
I act like we don’t belong
But I know that this isn’t our end
She smiles and says she loves me
I smile back and force away tears
I’m wondering how I allowed this to be
When losing you was once my only fear
Baby, just come back and make it right
Because my life is invisibly falling apart
I hate crying myself to sleep at night
Because I can’t seem to find my heart
It disappeared when they took you away
Normal things are harder with each smile
But I’m continue to break more each day
So just come back…even if only for a little while
