A Lost Love Poem by Marilyn Lott

A Lost Love

Rating: 4.1

When you lose someone you love
And you feel alone and lost
Your heart is hurting so
It’s a terrible kind of cost

Your days don’t make sense now
You’d rather stay right in your bed
Life has nothing now to give you
You think of checking out instead

Each day seems to last forever
For your dreams no longer exist
If only you could turn time back
For your loved one is really missed

The only thing I know that helps
Is to look to God above
You know He watches over you
So be open to His love

Yes, concentrate on Him, my friend
He will help you through this time
For again peace and contentment
Some day you will truly find!

With love comes an attachment that joins two people as one. With loss there is an emptiness that subtracts from the inner soul. Memories of that love help you to know that it was magnificent and worthwhile. Thank you for your lovely poem.
