A Memory Thats Fading... Poem by Rachel Byrum

A Memory Thats Fading...

Time seems to be ticking right on by
And while i still tell myself i won't cry
I feel the moisture on my face
When I'm remembering your embrace
The sway of your hips with mine
They way our fingers intertwined
When every word you said seemed to rhyme
The way a smile would play across your face
When I'd fall
Flat on my butt
Or slam a book right in my face
Or just walk straight into a wall
Remembering when your kisses made everything seem so damn clear
You made all my fears just disappear
But now i'm scared and so afraid
Afraid of loosing it all
...Again
I'm done with pretending
Cause your no longer defending
Me from harm and all thats wrong
All you had to do was wrap me in your arms
But now all you are is just another memory thats fading
