A Memory To Keep Poem by A. P. Hancock

A Memory To Keep

Let's go and take a trip somewhere, it's Sunday afternoon
We'll ride in Grandpa's Pontiac, and play your favorite tunes

Let's pop the top and feel the wind, let's style down DuMond Lane
We'll wave at everyone we see, they'll think we've gone insane

Let's stop at Johnny's soda shop, and have an ice cream float
We'll drive on up to Great Grand Lake, and watch the racing boats

Let's cruise on out to City Park, and watch the lovers love
We'll gaze as fountains shimmer bright, and feed the lowly doves

Let's walk along the wading pond, admire the golden fish
We'll go to where the old well is, and wish our grandest wish

Let's end the day at Levee Road, until the sun's asleep
We'll then go home with prize in hand, a memory to keep
