Somewhere along the way
I got lost in the dark
And fell to the ground
The grief eating away at my mind
Bit by bit creating anger and confusion
As to why you left me with my heart
Ripped wide open and shattered

It took so very long for my heart to realize 
That all of what you said was never real
I loved you with everything I had
But in the end you left me with my heart
Ripped wide open and shattered

It's been awhile now
And I'm beginning to mend
My hearts stopped hoping you'd come back
Since you left me with my heart 
Ripped wide open and shattered

If there ever was a chance
For you to gain my forgiveness
It was lost the moment my heart was mended
From when your sorry self left it ripped wide open and shattered.
