A Message To The Farmer
What life is this
Day after day
Stuck in this barn
Just eating hay? ,
All I can do is moo
To make a complaint
From me to you.
I can see you in my field
I`m sure more milk
Out there I`d yield,
I know you`re my friend
And you are kind
But why do you always
Leave me behind? .
Outside my barn icicles grow
Have you seen them
Do you know,
Why is your hair covered in frost
Where is your hat
Has it got lost? .
As you have kept me confined
To this barn
To amuse myself
I`ve spun you a yarn,
If in here I spend much more time
Perhaps I`ll be able to spin it in rhyme.
Now this poor cow`s tired
And off to sleep
My green pasture
Will have to keep.

oh Heather I love this one..you took me to the farm and I loved it.. :)
Nice poem Heather. This farmer should be named and shamed... har har.
I enjoyed it very Moo...uch, Heather.
Hold up, my milk is complaining about being
holed up in its container.
Must be from the same cow.
Growing up on a dairy farm, this gave me a great, big laugh. A well cadenced write. Oh! That poor cow
And she will probably add eat more chicken geat meter and rhyme.
Very nice poem and the lovely personification of a cow speaking for itself makes it appealing - specially to the young readers (like me) .
