atrophy: similar to wasting away emaciation withering shrivelling etc. I guess life is. Of course my brain is undergoing atrophy, as is YOURS! ! ! i gave up trying to process the poem. bri :)

So true MJ. You hit the nail on the head.I think the more we face our mortality the more fully alive we become. Had a near death experience a few years ago and since then I'm on my knees grateful for the amazing gift of existence. What an amazing adventure it all is. Concise and thoughtful poem, Thank you MJ
