A New Day Poem by Rika Montiny

A New Day

A new day
A new dawn
I am alive
The pain has gone
My cacoon of sadness
Has been broken down
Into a usless memory
Because I'm no longer crying
My heart had been dying
But now I've survived
I'm now alive
Storms may bring
Destruction and pain
But there's always a rainbow
Right after the rain
I've found my way
I stayed alive
I rise from the ashes
I have survived
I've felt great sadness
But forgotten my pain
I don't dwell on my past
It can fall like the rain
A beautiful flower
Grows in the ashes
Of the horrible past
But it keeps growing
To plant new seeds
For a brand new future
The clouds have parted
The stars say hi
They shine like embers
In the midnight sky
Let the rain fall down
To wash my fears
Let it fill me hope
And drown out my tears
Because the clouds are revealing
A brand new sun
Yesterday's over
A new day has come
