A New Gnu Poem by George Hunter

A New Gnu

Rating: 5.0

I think that I shall never view
A thing as wild as a new gnu.
A gnu whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against it’s Mama’s big old breast.

A new gnu, who is very cute
Wearing only his birthday suit.
So, new gnu, here’s a toast to you
Try your best to not be blue
Before you get put in a stew.

For it’s well known that a wildebeest
Often ends up as a lion’s feast.
This awful fate is not real new
Especially for a brand new gnu.
Of the gnus that I once knew.

Some say that no gnus is good gnus
But I just don’t respect their views
One new gnu that really grew
Was sequestered in a zoo.
I wish him well, and I must refuse
To write new news about the gnus.
