A New Life Poem by Toshie Nohara

A New Life

Bored with life in a big, busy city
Haunted by noise pollution and traffic jam
Daily competing against ambitious, crazy people
And dreading a stressful job
This man couldn't cope anymore!
It was a nagging battle mostly
That drained out his energy at the end of the day.

To start anew,
He resigned after much thought of leaving his home country
His heart beating with excitment
The lure of Nature's beauty and awesome lakes in Canada
Clean mountain air ever refreshing
He was ready for adventure!

On a fine Spring day
He withdrew his savings from the bank
A confident smile on his face

The sky was blue
When he flew off to Canada
To fulfill his dream
A new life as a tourist guide
Was his hope
No more boredom
His freedom to have joy, peace and satisfaction.
