so this is the way it goes
we're finding our doors all closed
and trying to stay away
from things we want to fade

i'm trying hard to forget
exactly what you had said
don't know about you but it's just
killing my inside

i'm trying not to hide

and after it's over, after it's done
we're lying here wasted, hurt and undone
i wish i could say that things may never change
but i guess it's time now to find a new place

after everything that's passed
after everything that's changed
i realize i can't define the way
i need to see your face

and after all the time that's passed that we spent
sitting here alone
i wonder if you ever thought
of coming back to this place alone

and after it's over, after it's done
