A New Way Poem by Rick Elpers

A New Way

The fog rolls by friendly
along the hillside
picking up color from light
newly born golden orange
Covering trees, grass
and the dirt road in the distance
Birds sing a cacophony
intermixing sound with color
To bring this morning peaceful
and quiet hoping as always
that He will provide
all that's necessary for my day
to prosper to exhibit
His life through mine,
Even as I'm still just a man
on this Earth my desire is to be
available for anyone who cares to see
that life does emanate from God
and not men.
If I can only get out of the way
enough to show
His work is His work,
and not mine,
it will be a wonderful day.
