A Novice Poet Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

I am a Novice Poet,
Why do you not believe me?
I have written two hundred poems
For you all to see.

On poets.com I have put them,
For my fellow poets to review,
They have pleased some of you,
But also upset a few.

I have collected many Stars,
From fellow poets on that site,
And received an Accolade also,
Which is very nice to know.

With in excess of 5000 Stars,
A 'National Laureate' I have become,
To join the many others,
Whose poems have delighted some.

There are a few new poets,
Who have not yet gained their Stars,
Who denigrate our verses,
By Reviews not up to Par.
