A Part Of Me Poem by Chinwe Robert

A Part Of Me

Alas! I stand here as the judge
Fear not, all ye innocents, don’t be bugged
For my words shall strike – bang! , bang!
It shall be sharper that the vampires fang.
Who, you may ask is this that judges
I am the thought in your subconscious that teaches,
I am the very down trodden
The man you failed to help though he be forgotten.
I am the murdered unborn
The war ridden nation, war torn
I am that, that says NO, NO, NO.
When your greedy heart says GO, GO, GO.
I remain, and I shall be,
The very one whom you thought you have seen.
NAY! ! !
Alas! I stand here as the teacher
All ye unlearned give me your ear
Like the whirl wind my words shall be like whoosh! Whoosh!
A lasting memory, a lasting smooch.
Who, you may ask is this that teaches
I am the correcting doctrine long forgotten in the centuries and ages
I am that, that tells you not to spit in public,
I am that, that gives to the poor, my coat and tunic.
I am that, that tells our leaders to accountable
And to our elders to be responsible.
I am that, that says DON’T, DON’T
When you want to fight after being called a GOAT, GOAT.
And who do you think this teacher is,
That part of you that would never hiss.
