A Plebeian's Infraction Poem by Kumaara Sukeja

A Plebeian's Infraction

A PLEBEIAN'S INFRACTION

In left Auricle
Or right Ventricle
Hyped 'Theatrical'

To Mannered Ears: a comical cry,
A screech. At the worst.
Sucked bone-dry of emotions- he-
'She wuz jus' passin' by'...

Hung to dry.
On a clothes-line.

Drained.

Blood flow resignedly ebbing..
Dumped from the cerebral heights-
The prim 'Victorian' scornful.

What if the beat
Was erratic? - a foolish heart!

Cause and effect be damned!
The Bohemian aspirant
Metamorphosed
Into a foolish knave!

The tantalizing temptress:
Now disdainful, ascends
The higher moral grounds.

The friends murmur
And finally concur:
' She was not meant to stay- '

' His heart bled for her. '
Crimson Red.
But Blue would have made the difference.
