A Prayer For The Innocent Poem by Gwen Newcomb

A Prayer For The Innocent

Rating: 4.8

O God, these are dark days
And we are feeling despair.
We see and feel so much pain,
O Lord, we come to you in prayer.
We need to feel your presence wherever we are.
O Lord, we come to you in prayer.
There are sights and sounds,
Forever etched in mind,
For some the smell of smoke and
burning rubble there.
O Lord, we come to you in prayer.
Your Angels sent to comfort loved ones left behind,
Parents, wives, husbands and innocent little babes,
Those unborn, unaware.
O God! We come to you in prayer.
Our Father, healer, master of all,
Please heal those who call.
Bless us Father, over our land and everywhere.
We feel your presence and know you hear our prayer.
